Following their victories at last Saturday’s Local Government Elections, the Chairmen – elect in Ijede, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba and her Igbogbo/Baiyeku counterpart, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), have dedicated their electoral victory to their constituents.
They also charged constituents for continuous support as the works of transforming their council areas start off after the victory.
The Chairmen – elect spoke in separate statements following their emergence late Saturday night when they were declared winner and returned by the Returning Officers posted to their locality by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba, the incumbent Chairman, Ijede LCDA who said that she was honoured by her re – election, was also full of appreciation to constituents, stakeholders and party leaders.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been declared the winner of the Ijede LCDA Chairmanship election, having polled 11,958 votes, as announced by Otunba Shobanjo N.A., the Returning Officer of LASIEC, following the official collation of results from all wards.

“First and foremost, I give all glory to Almighty Allah for His grace and mercy throughout this journey. My profound appreciation goes to my beloved husband and family for their unwavering support, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijede and dedicated party stakeholders, our revered Ikorodu monarchs, the diligent Local Government Chairmen and CDAs, and most importantly, the good people of Ijede LCDA, whose overwhelming support made this landslide victory possible.
“This victory belongs to everyone who believed in our vision, stood firm in the face of challenges, and came out to vote. This is a mandate for progress, peace and purposeful leadership for Ijede LCDA. You made your voice heard. Your actions speak volumes…

“While today we celebrate, tomorrow we continue the work. The real task begins now, and I assure you that we will not take your trust for granted. We are committed to building a more united, inclusive, and prosperous Ijede for all. Together, let’s move Ijede LCDA forward with confidence, and together, we will achieve more,” the re – elected chairman said.
Hammed Aroyewun, the Chairman – elect, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, who polled the second highest votes in Ikorodu Division with 15, 015 votes, in his own victory statement, was also full of appreciation for constituents and stakeholders for accepting him with his campaign promises.

“With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I extend my deepest appreciation to you for your overwhelming support, trust, and votes for me and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Local Government Elections held yesterday, July 12, 2025. Your resounding votes solemnly entrust me with the great responsibility of serving and leading our beloved Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and I am truly honoured.
“To all dedicated community and political leaders and elders, the vibrant youth, professionals of all disciplines, entrepreneurs, market men and women, religious bodies, all sons and daughters of IBLCDA, and every resident across our five wards (C1, C2, C3, C4, and C5), belief in our vision for a “Glorious Path” made this success possible. Your encouraging voices and support reaffirm our collective resolve to build a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.”

Dedicating the victory to the constituents, he assured them of his renewed commitment to inclusive governance and delivery on his Ona Ogo agenda.
“I affirm that this victory is not mine and APC’s alone but also belongs to every resident of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. As I prepare to assume office, I renew my commitment to leading an inclusive administration that prioritizes education, social welfare, health, youth emancipation, food security, infrastructural advancement, sports, cultural liberalisation, and community development, as outlined in our GLORY Plan of Actions. I promise to serve with integrity, fairness, and transparency, ensuring that every voice is heard and every sub-community in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA is uplifted.

“I call on you to join hands with us as we embark on this journey to transform Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA into a model of progress and unity.
